Here on this Facebook page, we can see information about the flag of Angostura del Orinoco. It was created on May 19, 2005 and adopted by Special Decree Nº 010-2055. The designer is Professor Álvaro Antonio Sandia J. The yellow signifies the radiant sun which bathes the municipality. Blue is for the great Orinoco River and the waters which cut through the municipality. Red signifies the historical deeds, like when the Congress of Angostura took place on February 15, 1819, as well as the bloodshed of General Manuel Piar, who fought 17 battles and was shot on a wall of the Metropolitan Cathedral, next to Plaza Bolívar. Beige is for demonym and ethnicity.
The sphere is a cultural and posthumous homage to artist Jesús Soto. The blue, red and yellow colors achieve an optical mix, reflecting in a green tone that represents the exuberant nature of the landscape that surrounds the Angostura del Orinoco Municipality.
The coat of arms should be on the lefthand corner, though this practice is not taken into effect.

On February 15, 2020, the municipality unveiled a new coat of arms as part of its ceremonies commemorating the Congress of Angostura. Citizen José Antonio García Ruiz is credited with the design of the coat of arms, which was selected through a public contest.
The orange quadrant depicts the sun of Angostura, guide to Liberator Simón Bolívar. The green quadrant displays a sapoara fish, endemic to the Orinoco River. The blue quadrant depicts a working fisherman, a major part of the municipality's economy. The rock is the Piedra del Medio, a landmark in the city. The Angostura Bridge is also displayed.
On the right side of the shield, displayed are feathers for indigenous peoples. On the left side are cashews and tonka beans. Above the shield is the eighth star of the national flag, for the unity of Guayana Province.
Heres Municipality changed its name to Angostura del Orinoco on the same day as the coat of arms, the 15th of February, 2020. Two ribbons are below the coat of arms, the first reading the capital name and the second the year of the municipality's name change.
